Best Life is about excavating your inherent skills, strengths and wisdom to create a toolkit for living well. Best Life is founded on the idea that the body is a perfectly functioning organism with a remarkable capacity for healing when provided with the right conditions. This is not a one-size-fits-all approach. It blends aspects of many modalities, including but not limited to:

  • A fifteen year background in conventional medicine as as a registered nurse and a family nurse practitioner.

  • Applied Functional Medicine Coaching - healing illness based on the determining root cause, as opposed to a band-aid approach.

  • Nervous System Regulation - retraining the brain to reduce the stress response.

  • Somatic Work - body based practices to integrate the nervous system.

  • Mindfulness - the art of being in the present moment.

  • Integrative Nutrition - founded on the concept of bio-individuality, the unique circumstances affecting a person’s overall health and wellness at any given stage of life, Integrative Nutrition addresses eight fundamental elements - nutrition, physical activity, physical environment, professional life, relationships, finances, playtime and spirituality - to holistically bring us back into balance.

  • Play and creativity.

  • Self Compassion - Healing emotional eating and developing body acceptance.

  • Self Actualization - Making meaning in your life.

I will encourage you to introspect, reflect and reach your comfortable edge. And, I will be right there supporting you every step of the way.

This program is NOT for you if you aim to focus primarily on counting calories and fitness training. For that strategy, I recommend directing your search towards a Registered Dietitian and/or Fitness Expert in your area. This program is not about forcing an outcome with will power. It is about changing gently and deliberately from within to ensure long-lasting results.

It has been truly wonderful working with Abbie Burke during her six month Health Coaching program.
