Our Miracle Dog Millie
Early life
Millie was a very energetic puppy, We had to take her on long walks every day. She was the runt of the litter, and we later found out from the veterinarian that at 45 pounds, she was, in fact, a dwarf Golden Retriever.
Blindness
Late in Millie’s life she, was diagnosed with an eye disease that was very painful. Ultimately, the only option was to have her eyes surgically removed.
Present life
About a year later we moved to Virginia from Washington, DC. It should have been a challenging move for a blind, geriatric dog, but within a week, Millie learned her way around the house. Upon hearing Millie’s whole story, the new veterinarian called her a miracle dog.
